Comments: From diagnosis, to surgery, to after-care,
Dr. Lugo is top-notch! Here’s my experience:
I discovered a pretty big lump in my lower left abdomen, Dr.Lugo diagnosed it upon examination as an incisional hernia even before imaging, and even after several other doctors had said hernia was “highly unlikely.” Imaging concluded Dr. Lugo was CORRECT, and subsequently I scheduled the surgery. Surgery was far more complex as I had had multiple previous abdominal surgeries/c-sections, and Dr. Lugo took the time to clean up scar tissue and multiple adhesions including ovary and small bowel, as well as repair the large hernia. Recovery was fairly easy, off pain meds by day 2 post-op. I had developed a fever day 2 post-op, which was a Saturday, and notified Dr Lugo’s office, and he instructed me to go to ER, turned out I had Covid, but Dr.Lugo had orchestrated and expedited the entire ER visit (coordinated with ER physician before my arrival, ordering tests, etc) to make sure no infection from the surgery was causing the fever, which it wasn’t. But he remained in touch with me throughout the entire visit. I have never received such compassionate, pro-active, and top-notch care from a physician and would highly recommend Dr. Lugo to anyone needing surgery within his disciplines.
